Fun With Flowers Slightly edited shots of my shadow having fun with flowers. Taken with my HTC Desire mobile phone. No editing besides some playing around with the contrast and saturation. One of the many good things about Spring is that there are flowers everywhere, so I've decided to shoot a remake of this image that I've posted last year. If you come across some flowers today, tell them how much you appreciate them and pet their tiny heads, they like that :D

Help, the nuclear cloud that's coming out of Japan has reached Amsterdam and our flowers have started to shoot smoke up into the otherwise clean and sunny Spring sky...this can't be good and I hope that somebody is going to fix this soon, it just doesn't seem right that our flowers look like they're puffing on some giant joints, hehe ;-P

This morning I've snoozed too much and didn't have time to upload pictures to the InterWebs, but luckily I witnessed the lovely sunrise in the Westerpark and managed to snap some shots for your viewing pleasure before rushing off to work. What a perfect, sunny, lovely Spring this has been so far, I hope we'll have manymanymany more of these awesome days, life just seems so much better with a bit of sunshine. Have a wonderful day :)

In The Vondelpark Slightly edited shots of the lovely Miss A, myself, and other people in the Vondelpark in Amsterdam yesterday. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing besides some added contrast. Yesterday I went to the Vondelpark with the lovely Miss A for some Inline-skating and it was fun. The park was full of happy, pretty people, the sun was shining like there's no tomorrow and everybody was in such a good, easy-going mood that it made me wish that every day could be like this...but then again, we might not appreciate these special, beautiful days as much as we did if we had them all the time...or not. Have a good start into the new week, take it easy, it's almost weekend again, haha :D

Today is another beautiful, sunny Spring day and I'll go to the Vondelpark for some skating later, for now I'm just chilling out on my balcony with coffee&ciggies, enjoying the warm vibes and the blue sky...too bad we've lost already one hour of the perfect day to the Daylight saving time that kicked in last night :)

I woke up early today even though I went to bed really late last night, and now my eyes are tiny, swollen slits through which I can barely see, but since the sun has disappeared and handed over the sky to some gray mush, it doesn't really matter, not much to see anyway lol. I am probably the only person in the best city in the world who doesn't really mind that it's raining, for everybody else it means a ruined weekend, for me it means fresh puddles and an opportunity to shoot some new wicked reflections...I'm such a dork, hahaha :D

Big In Japan Unedited shots of trees flowering in Amsterdam. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing. I just love seeing the signs of Spring everywhere in the best city in the world, and these trees clearly indicate a turn for the better (weather) each year when they start popping out their beautiful little buds. This year they also remind me of the crazy stuff going on in Japan at the moment, it all just seems like a wicked, weird movie and I expect Godzilla to show up any moment now and crush the rest of the country while fighting King-Kong...I sure hope that things won't get any worse and that we'll all have a peaceful, radiation-free Spring and Summer season :)

Even though it's been lovely weather lately, I still find puddles in the best city in the world, which often leads to questions like 'Do you take a water-tank with you?', and the answer is 'No', it just seems that the God of wicked reflections likes me and what I do and provides a fair amount of wet spots at any given time, independent of the season. Thank you God of wicked reflections, I really appreciate what you do for me, lol ;-D

Last weekend was a perfect Spring weekend and everybody went to the park to enjoy the sunshine and some ice cream. I went Inline-skating and managed to shoot some puddle pictures when I passed by some wet spots, you can tell that the people look happy and enjoyed the beautiful day. Luckily it's almost weekend again, I hope it'll be sunny and lovely :)

Miss A is crazy, she loves to climb up walls and she makes it look really easy, she must have been bitten by a spider or something. Just looking at her running up the walls at the Amsterdam climbing-hall made me dizzy and I had to sit down to avoid passing out from the sheer terror of watching her go higher and higher, until she almost kissed the sky. That's just insane, haha. I might give it a try the next time I'll go to that place, it does look like fun :)

Yesterday was a perfect, beautiful Spring day, so I went to the Vondelpark for a round of Inline-skating and I wasn't the only one who had this idea, the park was full of people enjoying the sunshine and the Summer'ish vibe. Have You Seen This Man? Unedited shots of 'Missing' posters in Amsterdam. Taken with my HTC Desire. No editing. For weeks now the whole city of Amsterdam is covered in these 'Missing Person' posters and flyers, the poor Gijs Thio seems to have vanished off the face of the earth and his friends and family are trying everything to find him back. I sure hope that he just went out to get some cigarettes but couldn't find a suitable shop to buy them right away, and that he will come back eventually. This whole story reminds me again that the best city in the world is not just about bikes, flowers, fun and pretty girls, there's a dark underbelly that's filled with shady elements, unspeakable things can happen here...my thoughts go out to Gijs and those that love and miss him, and I keep my fingers crossed that he'll turn up again unharmed...

My puddle pictures often contain much more than just water and reflections, there are cigarette butts, floaty stuff, dust on top of the water surface and many other things that add to the wickedness. Once I'm rich, I'll have my puddle assistant throw even more interesting items into the puddles, to keep things thrilling and new. I'm not sure what that crunchy looking thing in the left corner is, but it sure adds some funkyness to these photos. Almost weekend :))

The moment the sun comes out, so do the Sunshine bikers, people that only use their bike in near perfect weather conditions. Serious bikers like myself, who use their steel horse each and every day, in the Summer and Winter, on beautiful days and in the worst snowstorms, do not always appreciate those opportunistic good-weather bikers clogging up the bike paths, and sometimes we wish they would return to walking, taking the tram or

The people that pass by my puddles often make comments to each other, wondering what the hell I'm doing sitting next to a wet spot waving my camera at it, an activity that seems unusual even in a city filled to the brim with weird things. In these pictures you can nicely see the typical looks that I get from those crossing my puddle path, of course they don't know that I'm making them Internet stars by posting their confused faces here, hahaha :D

The City Silhouettes Unedited shots of people at the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. This is one of my favorite puddles in the best city in the world, it's in a very busy spot surrounded by pretty buildings, and last but not least, it's almost always there, even if it didn't rain for a while. Depending on the rain to create my wet spots for me isn't the most productive way to shoot wicked puddle pictures, so I'm currently working on developing a mobile, artificial solution that will allow me to shoot whoever I want, whereever I want, whenever I want :))

Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny Spring day and I've spent hours outside sipping coffee, watching people, and I even found some puddles to play with, it was lovely and I hope that today will be similar, but for now the sun is still hiding behind the clouds. I will do my Sun-dance now and try to force it to come out, wish me luck, also on behalf of the good citizens of the best city in the world :)

The tourists come to Amsterdam for many reasons (Sex, Drugs and Rock'n Roll), one of them are the delicious fries that you can eat in the best city in the world. If they're unlucky enough, they might show up in one of my puddle pictures while enjoying their greasy, yummie snack. These ladies were clearly not distracted enough by all the fat pumping through their veins after consuming their Patatje and discovered that I was shooting them, even though I was mostly submerged in the puddle...I guess I'll have to try harder the next time, lol ;-D

I love the bridges in Amsterdam, when I bike over them, I often stop at the highest point, take a look around me, breathe in the flavor of the best city in the world, and continue my journey filled with a deep-seated feeling of satisfaction and joy, congratulating myself to be lucky enough to live in such a beautiful place with so many beautiful people. Today is a lovely, sunny Spring day and I've had my first coffee outside on my balcony, majorly enjoying the warm, soft rays of sunlight stroking my face...what a difference some yellow light can make...have a relaxed, peaceful Sunday, do only things you reallyreally want to do today :))

This is the first free weekend for me after the 'Girls! Girls! Girls!' photo exhibition that I did last month at the ABC Treehouse and I'm reeeeally happy to be able to spend the next 3 days doing as little as possible, I'm so tired and need some rest. The problem is only, I am preparing to go back to school this year and study for a Bachelor degree, I have to do my Tax return for last year, get my bike, that majorly suffered from the harsh Winter fixed, and billions of other little, time-consuming things, so chances are that I'll have to sleep at the office next week to recover from a working weekend, lol :D

Girls!' exhibition at the ABC Treehouse and we were the Artists in Residence every Saturday and Sunday. It was great fun to meet all the visitors and have coffee and cookies with them, but now I'm glad it's over and that I can spend the next weekend doing nothing at all to recover and get some proper rest :)
