June 2K8 Sunday 29/06/2008 Tonight at 20:45 CET 'Die Mannschaft' is playing against Spain in the Grand Final of the Euro 2008 and it looks like it's going to be a nice match, yay :) VS In the best city in the world 'The Boys' have moved on with life&returned to their regular daily activities...what else is there to do (besides driving through town in a bar-bike that is) when your team is not in the running anymore?! To keep us entertained, as of the 1st of July a new Anti-smoking law will take effect and we will no longer be allowed to smoke cigarettes, cigars or any other kind of tobacco in bars, restaurants and coffeeshops...yes, those coffeeshops too, which leads to the absurd situation that as of Tuesday it will be illegal to roll your Joint or smoke your Bong with anything in it but pure Hash or Weed...I still can't decide if this should make me smile or sigh, what a weird world this is ;-P That leaves the question how this new law will be enforced, I'd estimate there are about 45 trillion Joints rolled each day in Amsterd@m alone, will there be a cop (not that we don't have enough of them doing pretty much nothing all day long!) inspecting every single one of those Brain-Bombers or how will things work out in reality?! Oh wait, here are some answers from coffeeshop owners: * “We’re too small to have a designated area, so people can smoke whatever they want. There will be only some 40 inspectors for all of Holland so the chance of getting a fine is low.” * “You will still be able to smoke anything from cigarettes to joints to hash, as we have designated smoking areas.” * “Technically you won’t be able to, I think… but I’m not sure. Then again, I think that since it is a tobacco law you will be able to light up pure joints… And who’s to say whether or not you put some tobacco in it as well?” * “It’s a tobacco law, and right they are. That stuff is nasty! Very unhealthy! We are constructing a designated enclosure for anyone who’s addicted to that stuff. But when it comes to pure weed, man, you can smoke it here. To make this even more fun, tonight Holland is playing against Russia in the Euro 2008 and of course we all hope that we'll beat them...meanwhile Switzerland has given up any last resistance to the Orange wave washing over the country :) Got something to say about this? Top of Page x x x Wednesday 18/06/2008 Yesterday Firefox 3 has been released and already 2 5 7 million people have downloaded it, which is a new Download-World-Record...go get it Tiger :) Even though I love the Fox and have been a loyal user for years, I could not resist getting the new version 9.5 of Opera too, after reading this article...I think I'll give them both a spin and see which one is really the best browser on the planet :) Last night the Dutch team finished off Romania with 2:0 and is moving on to the next round of the Euro 2008, yay :)) Got something to say about this? Top of Page x x x Saturday 14/06/2008 Fiday the 13th does not seem to be such an unlucky day after all, at least not for the Dutch, last night our Team beat France 4:1 (!!!) in a spectacular, superthrilling match at the Euro 2008 tournament, and we celebrated all night long in our favorite color, Orange, yay :D The French Newspapers are having a laugh about their team too, and the Germans think we might win the title :)) (P.s.
