Sunday 28/02/2010 The Golden Shower Unedited shot of bikers outside the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Help, the rain won't stop! Finally, after almost 3 months the snow has disappeared, only to be replaced by permanent rain, I can feel that I'm starting to grow gills and my hands and toes are webbing over, soon I'll be able to live under water, I need to get myself a waterproof camera to document that new, wet lifestyle. Oh well, maybe I'll manage to take wicked reflections from inside the water as well ;-D The Golden Video Unedited puddle reflection movie of the same spot :) Relax! Slightly edited shot of a biking girl, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :) Doomed City Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a biker and buildings, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. Taken with my C905phone. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. We're doomed! Doomed to continue building the new Metro line that will cause the whole beautiful city of Amsterdam to collapse into the giant tunnel system that will be drilled very soon, after decades of delays in the preparations and exploding costs that start more and more to look like the typical price for a month of war in Iraq/Afghanistan/Wherever...those huge holes will probably really good for taking puddle pictures though, so I won't object to the finalization of this megalomaniac project ;-P Amsterdam Reflected I've also made a new wicked puddle movie of this building, check it out on my YouTube page! Saturday 27/02/2010 Weekend! Slightly edited shot of a biker, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Is there anything better than the weekend? Those magic days that make you forget all the troubles of a work week and give sense and meaning to life...I wish every day was weekend and that the necessities of survival would just fall out of the sky, nourishing and supporting us lazy people in our fight for total freedom from any restrictions on our time and activities :)) Reality 2 Reflection I've also made a new movie that shows how I bike through Amsterdam until I find and film a wicked puddle, watch it on my YouTube page! Subtlemob Yesterday the good people of 'Subtlemob' had an event in the best city in the world and they used one of my Winter shots for promotion :) Friday 26/02/2010 Thank God It's Friday :D Unedited shot of a lady on her bike in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. It's Friday, yay! My weekend has started really well, I've slept for 10 hours, had some coffee&smokes and now I am happily looking forward to doing nothing at all for the next 3 days :)) Wet Video I've also made a wicked reflection movie of this puddle, watch it on my YouTube page! Single File Unedited mobile phone cam shot of bikers, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. Taken with my C905 mobile phone. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :) F**k It! You've always wanted to know the secret of the world-famous Indian spirituality? Watch this video ;-D The Power Of Photoshop Poor women, they are confronted with an unrealistic beauty ideal of what they should look like every day, and they actually feel compelled to try to compete with photoshopped perfect beauty...if you think it's a war they can win, check out this movie! Thursday 25/02/2010 Michelin S@m Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of Me&Mobie, reflected on the side window of a car in Amsterdam. Taken with my C905 phone. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. It's still freezing cold in the best city in the world and for the first time in years I actually own and wear a Winter jacket...unfortunately it makes me look like the Michelin Man in black, but yeah, it's warm and cozy, so I don't care and if you want to tell me that I look stoopid, you'll have to speak really fast because the moment I see your lips starting to curl up to form the word 'Stoopid' I'll just bike away as fast as I can in the opposite direction :)) Wednesday 24/02/2010 Wasn't Me! Unedited shot of the giant 'Iamsterdam' sign outside the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Last weekend I went to take some photos and movies of those big letters and shortly after I was done, the 'a' and the 'm' were stolen...wasn't me! I know that I've said that I'd like a smaller version of them to decorate my living room with, but that does not mean that I would actually steal them, now would it?! I am currently working closely together with the Amsterdam Police Department to prove my Innocence and to assist in capturing the real Perpetrator(s)! Those horrible people! Hahaha ;-D Tuesday 23/02/2010 The Dork Unedited shot of a guy on his bike outside the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. The title is somewhat insulting and I want to assure you that I don't usually judge a book by its cover, but this dude's bike looks kinda dorky and weird...like he's got this retarded friend who build it for him out of Popsicle-sticks and he had to use it because he's his best friend...I can't think of any other reason why anybody would bike around on that thing in the fashionable, best city of the world ;-P Dorky Video I've also made a wicked reflection movie of this puddle, check it out on my YouTube page! Monday 22/02/2010 I Am Unedited shot of people standing next to the giant 'Iamsterdam' sign outside the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I think I'm going to ask city hall for my own small version of these letters, minus the typo and maybe some build-in lightning, I'm sure that would be a cool lamp in my living room, an illuminated 'IamsterSam' sign...have a good start into the new week :)) Wicked Video I've also made a wicked reflection movie of this puddle, check it out on my YouTube page! Sunday 21/02/2010 Chewwie Unedited shot of girls posing at the giant 'Iamsterdam' sign outside the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I just love that sign, I only wish they had not made a typo, clearly it should say 'IamsterSam'! Anyway, those pretty girls hanging out at those letters at any given time more than make up for this little lapse, it's just so much fun to see them crawling all over the place, having their pictures taken inside 'my' letters, it's all good. The girl seems to be stuck to a big piece of chewing gum, but it's just the edge of the letter peeking out! Strike A Pose! She's just so happy to be in the best city in the world, she actually started levitating! Happiness It seems that the shot was successful, they look all happy and excited! Terd This guy seems to be thinking about that typo as well, he's all convinced that it would not have been necessary to make this mistake, it's not that hard to spell 'AmsterSam'...I agree with him :)) I've made some wicked reflection movies of the same puddle, watch them on my YouTube page! Yesterday Was A Good Day Unedited shot of my bike, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Yesterday was a good, no, a great day, as you may have heard already, the Dutch Government collapsed and we will have elections in a couple of months, yay :D If you come here regularly, you know that I often disagree with the mad ideas our elected rulers try to impose on the lovely people of this great country...it's going to be really interesting to see how Geert Wilders is going to make the most out of these Italian circumstances :) I've made a wicked reflection movie of this puddle, check it out on my YouTube page! Saturday 20/02/2010 Partay! Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a father&kid on a bike, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Yay, the Dutch Government collapsed!!! They argued over Afghanistan and how much longer Dutch soldiers should stay there but could not find a common line, so they gave up and started crying like the little Right-wing Religious Nutcase Biatch boys&girls they are...this is excellent, maybe we can now finally get some people with common sense and a strong connection with reality into the powerful positions and start making this country the lovely place again it used to be :)))) Friday 19/02/2010 Feeding Frenzy Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of swans on the Amstel in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation. This shot is dedicated to Mirthe Duindam because she always takes the most beautiful pictures of swans...have a nice weekend :)) Buggin' Out Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a Ladybug in the snow in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation. This ladybug is a symbol against Violence...I don't know why, if I'd get my ass kicked, the last thing I'd want for protection/selfdefense is a freakin' Ladybug, you can't harm anybody with them, and you surely won't stop anybody from beating the living crap out of you with such a soft, tiny weapon! Blue Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of the frozen grill of a car in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation. I think cars are pretty useless and instead of using them for selfish individual transportation, they should have their engines removed and their doors left unlocked so that bikers like myself can use them for short pit-stops and to warm up a bit when it gets too cold on the bicycle :) Wicked Videos I've made lots of new movies of myself biking through the snow in the best city in the world, watch them here or on my YouTube page! Thursday 18/02/2010 Onisac Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of bikes and buildings, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Yesterday the sun was shining in the morning and it made me and everybody around me so happy and the day just so much more fun. I need more of that stuff, I'm seriously addicted to sunshine...why don't they sell it in cans? I know, I know, there are the infamous sunbeds you can visit in the Winter (I've never been to one in my life), but I don't believe in artificial sun, it has to be the real thing :) Wednesday 17/02/2010 Get Your Kicks... Unedited mobile phone cam shot of some guys walking through the Red Light District in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Of course the title is missing a part, it should say also "...on Route 66" but I wanted to leave that last part to be filled in by your imagination and your creative mind...and another thing I wanted to achieve is that you'll hear that song inside your head for the rest of the day, haha ;-D Tuesday 16/02/2010 Brown Town Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a biker in front of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Everything in this picture, except for the sky seems to be brown, the bike, the trees, the Museum, even the Sleeping-bag (?) in the front of the bike has a distinguished tone that reminds me of the unpleasant surprise you sometimes find underneath your shoes after a walk in the park, what's up with that?! Anyway, it's almost weekend again and I won't let Brown Town distract me from that happy fact :)) Monday 15/02/2010 Ad Astra Unedited shot of buildings and the sun, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. The title of this shot, 'Ad Astra', means 'To the stars' and the sun is a shiny, pretty one that looks very wicked in this puddle picture...I'm counting the days until Spring starts (only 33 left!) and the sun will wrestle the control over our lives out of Winter's ice-cold, greedy hands :)) Sunday 14/02/2010 Happy Valentine's Day! Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of myself, reflected on a Valentine's Day balloon in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Today is Valentine's Day and I hope that you get to spend it with somebody you love. As much as I am opposed to imported American Holidays, I like this one, you don't have to dress up in a costume, you don't have to make a turkey, all you have to do is to express your love for another person, something that you should not limit to one day a year, every day is Valentine's Day :)) Biking Amsterdam I've made another movie of myself biking through the best city in the world, watch it on my YouTube page! Saturday 13/02/2010 Global Cooling Unedited shot of a poster advertising Summer clothes, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :) This poster is teasing us poor snowed in Amsterdammers, no matter how Summer'ish the ladies try to look, we're still covered in a crust of ice and snow and next week we'll get some more...I might build a fuel-burning combustion engine into my bicycle soon to further the Global warming process that seems to have completely collapsed and been replaced by a new Ice age...where did this all go wrong? Keep driving your car, try to get your hands on old cans of hairspray and burn every rubber item you can find, together we can make this happen, a warm, CO2-rich future for all of us ;-D Bike Ride Movie Yesterday I also shot a new movie of myself biking through the best city in the world, view it on my YouTube page! Friday 12/02/2010 Winter Unedited shot of the snow falling on Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. One of the best things about Winter is the light, everything is soaked in this mysterious sunshine that makes things look nice and fluffy. Today the sun is shining again so I'm going downtown in a minute to see if I can find some nice puddles to do my wicked thing :) Trapped Unedited shot of a pigeon sitting in a tree in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Poor pigeon, it's trapped in the tree! Considering that pigeons are rats with wings, it's probably a good thing that the tree decided to capture it with its branches, one less birdie to worry about, this rat won't poop on you (or me) while you're riding your bike in the best city in the world :) Swim Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a ladder leading into the Amstel in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added contrast, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Feel like taking a nice bath? Here's your chance to do it for free, just jump in and enjoy, once it's Spring we'll recover the block of ice containing your body and we'll install it on the Dam square as a piece of art and I'll call it 'Watch the Retard melt', free entry :) Thursday 11/02/2010 Back To Brrrrr Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of bikers, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing besides some added saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. The freakin' Winter is back, and it's angry! Yesterday morning Amsterdam was completely white again, covered in the lovely snow we've come to love so much in the last 2 1/2 months...when will this end?! I'm really tired of risking my life every time I leave the house, I'm tired of wearing all the clothes I have at the same time and still being cold, I'm tired of people telling me to enjoy it instead of complaining about it (although there are less and less of those lately, haha ;) and I'm really tired of having to smoke ciggies outside in the icy wind, you can't even tell if the burn in your lungs is caused by the smoking or the harsh storm entering your body through every uncovered orifice :)) Wednesday 10/02/2010 Just Do It Unedited shot of a runner, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. This poor guy, somebody stole his bike and now he's got to run wherever he needs to go! Having your bike stolen is a traumatizing, horrible experience, it's a bit like losing your favorite pet that you dearly love and nobody can bring it back, unless they're Stephen King of course. Usually you'll spend the next months looking for it everywhere, suspiciously glancing at everybody passing by on a bike that even remotely resembles yours, ready to punch them of their/your steel horse...we have this running gag in Amsterdam, if you see a bike that you like, you just yell "Hey, that's my bike!" and if you're lucky the person in question will drop it and run the other way...maybe that's why this guy is running ;-)) Tuesday 09/02/2010 Crusty Unedited shot of a biker in Amsterdam, reflected in an ice puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. What is it with this Winter?! It just won't stop! This week it got really cold again, luckily without snow, but it's getting harder every day to keep riding the bike, these freezing winds that seem to come straight from Siberia try to blow us out of our saddles and bring tears to our sad eyes that will then freeze again (the tears, not the eyes!), get blown into the sky and come down as ice-rain somewhere in Belgium or France...what a vicious cycle :) Monday 08/02/2010 Pops Patat UUnedited mobile phone cam shot of a biker, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Look at Pops on his bike, he's been there, he's done that, he's seen it all and now he's on his way home with a lekker patatje in his bag, ready to chill out on the couch with a healthy snack, enjoying the simple pleasures in life, when suddenly he's confronted with a wicked Reflectah, shooting him in a puddle...sorry Pops Patat, nothing personal! Sunday 07/02/2010 Family First Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a mother&kids biking in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. When you see a family on their bikes, beware! There's nothing as dangerous as a mother or father watching over her/his children while they're riding a bicycle, their protective instincts are on high alert and they'll do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of their little ones, they become the Godzillas of biking...I've tried passing this dad with a child in a little chair in the front once and he felt endangered by me coming up from behind, so he wildly swung in my direction and almost caused me to crash into a metal pole, for no obvious reason...needless to say that I would have kicked him into the Amstel if it wasn't for the kid hanging on to dad&the bike for his dear life :)) Northern Lights Unedited mobile phone cam shot of a biker, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I just love how the guy looks all cool and wicked because of the Northern Lights sun shining behind his back...biking is not just tons of fun, it can also address your aesthetic needs on a major level and it's good for you! Eventually you'll also show up in one of my wicked reflections if you bike around in the best city in the world for long enough, it's just a question of time, hehe :) Whacky Video Shooting puddle pictures is not enough for me anymore, I always try to make a movie of the same spots as well, you can watch them on my YouTube page :) AmsterS@m Unedited mobile phone cam shot of Me, Myself&I, reflected in a puddle in Amsterdam. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I've discovered a way to take wicked reflection shots of myself a while ago, and I am still fascinated, excited and worried about the possibilities that this new technique offers me when it comes to boring the bejesus out of you with an ever increasing amount of photos of this wicked Reflectah standing around in front of puddles somewhere in the best city in the world...living la vida loca baby ;-D Free Shipping 4 Lovers In the AmsterS@m Shop the shipping is free for any order above 25 euros until and including today, 07.02.2010, simply use the code 'INLOVE2010' when you check out :) Saturday 06/02/2010 The Golden Hour Unedited shot of a biker in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. One thing I really like about Winter is the light...you'll often find yourself surrounded by golden sun rays, softly stroking the faces of the people, making everything and everybody look pretty and happy. Those days make me even more aware of the fact that I am one of the chosen few ( about 750 000 to be exact) that actually live in the best city in the world, something that most people who know Amsterdam have wished for at one time or another :)) The Golden Hour Video And yes, I did shoot a movie of that scene as well, check it out on my YouTube page :) Shame On The Netherlands Die Antwoord Friday 05/02/2010 Puddle Floating Unedited shot of bikes in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle, taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I really like this picture, it's got a pretty building in it and bikes, a good combination...these guys look like they're floating through the puddle instead of biking, hopefully a scenario we'll see more often once Hoover-bikes will be the standard equipment for fit, fashionable Amsterdam people. We won't have to worry about all that ice and snow anymore that made biking such a dangerous task in the last weeks, yay :)) Puddle Floating Movie Of course I made a wicked video of this spot as well, watch it on my YouTube page! Animation Fight! This is fun :)) I Am A Muslim! Watch this movie, what a dork :) Thursday 04/02/2010 The Puddle Geisha Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a girl at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. I am not sure if it's politically correct to call this picture 'The Puddle Geisha', this lady might not even be Japanese and she might totally hate the idea of being referred to as a 'Geisha', but I did it anyway, sorry lady :) Wednesday 03/02/2010 Bikesk8ing UUnedited mobile phone cam shot of a guy pushing his bike at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Yesterday the streets were so iced over that I was actually getting really worried every time I saw another biker coming my way that we might slip, collide and explode in this giant mushroom of body- and bikeparts that you could have seen from outer space or at least on Google Earth...except for the exploding part this is a true story and it could happen to you (if you, like me, are stoopid enough to bike around in the best city in the world while it's frozen). Luckily our city council keeps the remaining salt in the storage facilities and does not do anything about the people falling and cracking their skulls open, so that once this Winter is over, Amsterdam will be populated by a super-race of extra sturdy, unbreakable people, survival of the fittest baby! Tuesday 02/02/2010 Mum To The Rescue Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of the little girl and her mum at the Museumplein in Amsterdam after being rescued from the Candyman, reflected in a puddle. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. Just to prove that the little girl from yesterday's shot made it out of that critical situation unharmed, her she is, walking away from the Candyman with her mother...note that it seems that the Candyman had already called his buddy who came rushing to the scene on his bike with bags full of candy (to the right) ;-)) Monday 01/02/2010 The Candyman Slightly edited mobile phone cam shot of a stranger talking to a little girl at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle. No editing besides some added contrast&saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop. It looks as if the old dude is offering candy to a little girl that's standing around in the icy streets of Amsterdam all by herself, and that's really nice of him, she must be cold and hungry, so hopefully he took her home and offered her some warmth and love in his shelter...or is there something wrong with strangers giving candy to little, lonely girls?! AmsterS@m News I've uploaded some photos of their big-screen news program reflected in a puddle to the 'AT5' website and they published them :) Free Shipping 4 Lovers In the AmsterS@m Shop the shipping is free for any order above £25 until 07.02.2010, get some wickedcool items for your special someone, simply use the code 'INLOVE2010' when you check out :) Last Month |
