Top of Page Sunday 15/02/2009 My washing machine died a few weeks ago, so I had to buy a new one...sounds easy, right?! Well... The actual act of going to a shop and buying a new machine was the easy part and it took only an hour or so (and 400 euros), but when they came a few days later to deliver it, things turned ugly, fast... One of the delivery guys tried to close the water tap going to the machine but since I hadn't touched it in the last 7 1/2 years, it had caulked shut and wasn't moving at all, but the dude kept pulling, and since he was a tall, strong man, he managed to close it rip the water pipe to pieces, water started dripping out of it immediately and after informing me that he can't connect the new machine to a leaking pipe, he tried to leave me without my new purchase AND a leaking, broken water pipe...nice try! I followed him all the way down to his truck, asking him hysterical questions about my new washing machine and my water pipe but he was all cool&calm about it and said 'Get a Plumber and go back to the shop to sort it out with them, we can't do anything' (I guess he meant besides putting my bathroom under water), so that's what I did... Luckily there was a Plumber close by who agreed to come around right away and have a look. When he arrived, he turned out to be this giant guy who had brought a colleague so tattooed all over that I was a bit concerned I might have invited some Hells Angels to my house... Naturally they forgot most of their tools and spare parts, so they had to go back to their shop twice, spending several hours doing so (these guys charge 80 euros an hour!) but finally they managed to replace the pipe&tap, and because I was nice to them (I made coffee and tried not to look too frightened by their appearances), they only charged me 1 hour+material (150 euros!)! I then went to the washing machine people to figure out how to get that money back from them and have the thing finally delivered (having to take a 2nd day off work of course) and we agreed to try again the following week. I've handed in the bill and showed some photos of the new tap (I was too shocked to remember taking pictures of the smashed, dripping pipe, damn) and now I'm waiting to hear from them, hopefully soon, all in all this little adventure has cost me around 800 euros, that I had planned on spending on Sex, Drugs&Rock'n'Roll charity and other good causes :)) P.s. It seems that the washing machine people have read this, I've received a letter today that they would be honored&excited to financially compensate me for the mess they've created in my bathroom, yay :D Afterwards I went out and took some wicked reflection shots :) And because you like them so much, another girl shot, featuring the lovely Miss S! Oh, and btw, this is why you're FAT, hahaha ;-D Top of Page Sunday 08/02/2009 Last week my second interview of this year has been published (read the first one here!), the lovely people of the "F+D Fotografie" magazine contacted me, because they liked my puddle pictures, and wanted to do an interview with me :) So I went and met up with this cool Old-School photographer, Karel Maat, who is a really nice dude and did his best to make me look good in his article ;-) Since he's a bit old-fashioned, he does not own a laptop (and neither do I!), so I had to borrow one from a friend and drag it, together with a stack of CDs with my photo archive, through the best city in the world, to the wickedcool 'Schuim' bar, one of my favorite places. Karel had this charming little tape recorder and over some delicious coffee, we spend a great time chatting away the afternoon...when I wanted to present my wicked reflection collection to him, the battery of the PC went dead, but thanks to a power socket in a corner behind our table, no problemo...then the DVD drive decided not to work anymore and my CDs suddenly turned into a shiny collection of beer coasters, luckily eventually the thing started working again, phew :) I'm famous, yay ;-D F+D Fotografie Here are my latest wicked reflections!
